FUR-EVER FRIENDS

All of our animals are pets. They are loved and cared for during their lives here on our hobby farm.

Our animals come from a variety of back grounds, many are re-homed to us, some are purchased, and some were born here.

The kids love getting to know the animals- their routines, personalities and quirks, care needs, etc. Many of the kids find they have a couple of favorite animals by the end of their week- the animals that they create connection with, the animals that made them feel accepted, the animals that showed them trust and respect, the animals that "chose" them in return. Many of the children look forward to returning to see their favorite animal and often make sure their favorite gets some extra treats and love.

Our regular kids can often be tasked with added responsibilities in caring for the farm animals. Ex. filling water buckets, cleaning stalls, brushing and grooming, haltering and leading, checking on and cleaning enclosures, etc. This is never a requirement of our program, but for many they love taking part in these aspects of animal care. It gives them a strong sense of pride, leadership, responsibility, all while getting extra time to build connection.
