NEW: 2026 YOUTH LEADERSHIP ON THE FARM
For summer 2026, we are hoping to create a new program for youth ages 11-14 (entering grade 7) to be able to come participate on the farm at a reduced or zero cost.
As children grow into youth, their need for constant care and supervision decreases. However, left at home their days will often become filled with more screen time than we would prefer as parents. Let's give these youth the opportunity to connect to animals and nature on the farm.
We are hoping to be able to offer Youth Leadership Program in summer 2026. This program is designed for youth who have the ability to self-regulate while following rules for safety, respect, and kindness. Less supervision is given to these youth and they have greater zones of freedom on the property as long as staff are aware of their plans and locations. In doing this, we hope to be able to provide these youth with a wholesome summer experience on the farm, building friendships, creating connections, improving their resiliency and independence, and strengthening their leadership skills. They are welcome to join in on any of the organized activities, go for unsupervised walks in the woods and down to the stream to build forts, or interact with animals safely with permission.
Our target for a reduced cost program fee will be $95.00/week (Monday-Friday) or $175.00 for one day per week for the full summer (9 weeks total).
Contributions to support this program are greatly appreciated and can be made via etransfer to trilbylanedaycamps@gmail.com. If you choose to support this program, please specify in comments "YOUTH LEADERSHIP"
Applications for this program will be available in March and will be approved based on funding. Applicants will be selected based on ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills, independence, follow rules for safety and respect, and be good role models for other children attending the program.
