Our programs are developed with a child/youth-led philosophy for play and development.
Our aim is to help create a program that will allow individuals and staff to thrive as their best selves. Its difficult to describe exactly how any week or summer will be. A lot of things come together to influence the outcomes: The kids and their interests, experiences, passion; The staff and their past experiences, interests, hobbies, and future career goals; The animals and their interest in the activities or certain people. We can't force things to be a certain way. We all come together and create a unique experience. The property and environment have an influence over it, but the people and animals help to really shape and drive it where it needs to go. Children help to create their bucket lists and let us know what they are most excited to do or where they want to spend most of their time. From there, our group schedule flows into something that aims to meets everyone's needs. You don't have to be interested in farm or animals to enjoy our program. There is more connection and opportunity to experience.Â
In offering a program with a child-led approach that gives children and youth the opportunity for autonomy, choice, and control, we aim to have a program that helps to foster resilience, self-esteem, personal growth, leadership, confidence, problem-solving, collaboration, and team building. All of these skills are vital in all stages of life.
We have 3 main target areas we try to achieve through our programs and activities:
Connection to Nature and the Outdoors
Connection to Animals
Connection to Self facilitated through Mindfulness Activities
We want all individuals to feel safe and respected in our program and to feel connection while they are here.
